Lioncolnshire closing Libraries
So Lincolnshire is to close many Libraries to save money. People cry "No!"
But really who uses the Libraries any more? They are very poor have you been to one lately?
Sutton on -sea or Mablethorpe - where are all the books.
Mostly you have to order books that don't even come to Sutton - you have to go to Skegness to get them.
Then the "Consultation" they had it in Louth - when most resident s are in Sutton/Trusthorpe etc.
How do you get to Louth for a consultation? No Late buses or use your car 30mile round trip, 1 hour travelling. They said it was to accommodate the numbers. What about the Dunes or the Church halls they can get 60/70 in.
County Council not really trying as usual - a done deed I say. As usual Ignore the coastal communities, Lincoln's alright!
Anyway I agree. Close the Library - its not open when I can get as I work all week.
What I want is on-line if I want. Download from Amazon to my kindle etc.
Why can't the Libraries be a "Download service"? Books subsidised on a 1 month expiry time - they self destrct after 1 month - it can be done.

Doctors - missed appointments
Amanda Platell in the Daily Mail says that we should pay £25 per doctors appointmant to see the doctor as so many just miss appointments wasting docotrs time. I agree its not on but since those not working would not have to pay and from my experience trying to get an appointment to see my doctor, my surgery cannot understand that you might WORK, hence you want to see the doctor at a mutually convenient time. I consider my time precious so would not miss my appointment. £25 is not relevant the majority who take the appointments would not be paying anyway so what is the incentive NOT to miss?
I say 3 strikes and you're out! Miss 3 appointments and you have to find another doctor. That may sort out these who miss their appointmnts, eh?

Don Quixote fought Windmills - we mus Fight the Monsters Wind Turbines.
Look I'd have a Wind Turbine in ~My Garden if I could afford the £1.5million to build one. After all its not about Electricity is reaping the rewards from the Government.
Its like winning the Lottery - you could live off the interest for life (well next 25 years).
Its a complete SHAM. Wind Turbines will never solve our Energy crisis or save the planet.
Facts - (see Godfrey Blooms paper on How to Fight Wind Farms)
((I might not agree with his politics but he's spot on with this)
Why aren't folk clamouring to stop the ROCs and the Constraint payments? Its worse than Bankers Bonuses or the Bedroom Tax.
Anyway,
1 x 2.6MW turbine at 30% efficiency will generate over £650000 in one year, or over 25 years £16m. Not to mention the price rises or constraint payments.
However, with regards to CO2
The government estimates that 9.2 million tons of carbon were saved by wind turbines in 2010. That sounds like a lot, but it represents just 0.03% of global emissions. The UK emits 2% of global emissions. Even if the UK emitted no carbon whatsoever, it would make no difference to climate change at all. Wind energy has virtually no chance of making a meaningful contribution to ‘saving the planet’.
Powering every home in the UK with wind farms of equivalent power as the Dun Law wind farm would require 1,788 wind farms and a total of 46,428 wind turbines. That’s one wind turbine every 5 square kilometres, across the entire UK.
What we need to do really is switch to energy saving devices, waste less, use LESS, travel LESS, Work From Home. Now STOP FRACKING. Yes its cheap energy but just creates more CO"=2 - do we really want to KILL our planet?
You decide.

Triton Knoll
Triton Knoll - the UK's largest offshore wind farm. 1200mw of power. It will generate at least £36billion for RWE over the next 25years - not allowing for increases in power prices. What does Lincolnshire get? just some cables underground and two great hulking substations the sizes of 20 football pitches. Is this FAIR?

No to Asserby Wind Farm II
Here we go
300 Wind Turbines 20miles off the coast so we won't actually see them.
GOOD.
1200MW of potential power to power almost 1million homes - GREAT - but they need to connect it all to Grid.
AS I was saying earlier because the power isn't where it is wanted (not many people in the North Sea!!), we need the infrastructure on the Grid to pipe it in to where it is needed. So very good - does East Lindsey get any benefit? Not really. Then with the CONSTRAINT payments they'll get a whacking payment for NOT supplying any power to Grid - even if the Wind Farm is NOT connected to the Grid. CRAZY.

Please tell me that they'll be joining him.
We should gladly buy their tickets.

Bedroom tax makes big house not wanted?
What did I say. Apparently there are loads of bigger houses not wanted. Well here's the rub single Heather Frost needs a very big house with 11 children!
SO what can she do well the council have built her a 6 bedroom detached house just for her and her brood. Of course she lives on benefits - over £30k I understand. (I thought there was a cap?).
So why can't she use one or two of these big empty houses? Doesn't matter where it is 'cos she's unemployed? Or also where are the Fathers? Shouldn't they be contributing to the family or at least some children farmed out amongst their Dad's if she doesn't have room. Some are old enough to live on their own. Maybe the folk with spare bedrooms could take in a child or two that would cover their benefit shortfall and they wouldn't have to move out, is it called fostering?
I despair. What did I say is it Heather's Human Right that we should provide her with a house fit for her family at any expense.
You decide.

Bedroom Tax? I don't get it.
So surprise surprise the "Bedroom Tax" is driving people to small houses and big ones are remaining empty.
Where are all these families that need big houses? It doesn't seem to affect the likes of Mrs Abu Quatada does it. Still living in her mansion in London at the Taxpayers expense? Move her up North - plenty of big houses here and they're much cheaper.
SO how does it work, is it like the Window Tax? That didn't last did it.
Why don't people share big houses? I shared a house for 3 years when I was a Student. Ever watched Friends? Don't they share?
But seriously isn't it a Human Right to have a spare bedroom? Surely that should be the limit
occupants+1 spare room should be paid for by law.
I agree we can't go on funding endless folk living in bigger and bigger houses on benefits. Any way who said that everyone has a Human right to their own house, even if they have no money or job?
Comments please.
