Big Brother Watching?

This has not surprised me, actually surprised they don't make more use of it.

Tesco, e.g. you use your "Clubcard" so they have all your details, what you buy where, when etc. Don't htey see a pattern? Look at thousands of shopppers, even with out Clubcard they've got the PLU's on their system as they scan the stuff at the checkout. Yet we go to Tesco or on-line and they don't have what we want!

Appalling - no wonder they're losing the Supermarket race.

Thinks about it every time you shop/buy and use a card they know where you bought and what. The Banks could use this in conjunction with retailers to do some sort of marketing/deals.

Data Mining I call it. Again surprised there isn't more targeted stuff. Or better service.

Who will start doing this and win the race?

Mablethorpe 1, Louth 0

So Mabo to get a decent supermarket. Louth is still resisting. Nothing gets built in Mabo so this is a big WIN! Its also Louth's loss. Sure it will attract in people from Louth and far and wide to Mabo. They may even spend some time (and Money) in theTown. We'll see.

Mobility Scooters are anti -social - now this is really MAD

Remember I moaned about old and disabled folk riding around on these mobility scooters (are they all disabled?).

You even see them in the Supermarket blocking aisles and shoving you out of the way but this has gone too far. You simply Can't take your car into the Supermarket. It has got to stop!

Don't want Horsemeat Burgers?

If you don't want Horse-meat Burgers then don't buy burgers from your Supermarket.

Support your local butcher get his minced beef or better buy your meat and mince it (or get him to mince it - he will).

We exclusively buy all our meat from our local butcher.

Don't tell me he's dearer that the Supermarket 'cos he isn't.

  1. If you get to know him he "treats you"
  2. If you buy regularly and in quantity he may discount it
  3. His chickens aren't pumped up with water
  4. less waste on his meat
  5. He's local, less food miles, you don't have to travel miles to his shop.
  6. Our butcher delivers free.
  7. Actually his prices are comparable with Supermarkets AND his meat is better quality
Our local butcher Bennetts Butchers Sutton on Sea, Lincolnshire.

I highly recommend him, especially his own made Lincolnshire Sausages.

the Price of milk

So some Milk distributors are to cut the price they pay to farmers of their milk. The farmers say it is below cost.
2 things.

  1. if its below cost then they'll just stopped producing it. Grow wheat instead.
  2. personally I'd pay more happily!
On 2, what I mean is our supermarket does 2litres of milk for £1 - great. Rather than the farmers "starve" I'd happily pay £1.10 for 2 litres providing that the extra 5p a litre went to the farmers. If we all did this it would solve the problem?

Finally, just tell me why our corner local shop charges £1.60 for a 2litre milk? (where does the extra 60p go?).
