Should there be positive discrimination?

Why can't a white man play a black man in a film play? I think it's ridiculous to discriminate against white actors playing anything. It's not real after all! At the end of the day it's all objective. I don't watch soaps on TV, I don't like them but I wouldn't stop others. What I find objectionable others may like, so what.
Why are the "thought police" now destroying free speech in the name of political correctness. Soon we'll all be Winstons watched by Big Brother. I don't like this idea.
Gazza may have been offensive but was it not a private function? Anyone can say something offensive to someone else, it's not so much what word expression you use but the intention.
Let's all calm down and be broad minded before its too late and we are living in a totalitarian state. I feel discriminated against as a white,British,middle-class,person.

Clarkson has a foul mouth?

So Jezza has put his foot in it again,? Using a "naughty" word.

Now I'm not a fan of Jeremy Clarkson, he does not amuse me and irritates like mosquito bite but on this occasion I am with him.

What is it with these "Language Police"? Certain words are now banned, they used to be OK but now you can't say them because you might "offend" someone.

For heaven's sake they are only a collection of letters pronounced In a certain way. Where is the offence? Surely it is the context that they are used. Will the Thought-Police ban all words that have other meanings that offend, its like 1984, Newspeak? Rewriting history will be next - the Holocaust never happened? Did William the Conqueror invade us or was he invited?

What about "Bl*ck Labradors" - will they all have to be Euthanized or given another name? "Un-white Labradors". Gosh I'm getting paranoid now - what dare I write - someone may get offended?

Didn't Guy Gibson, Dambuster and War Hero call his dog this "N" name? Now I hear they can't use it in the latest film of the Dam Busters!

Censorship and history

Recent repeat of classic BBC Comedy Fawlty Towers was censored by  BBC. If it was OK when it was first shown why can't we see it now? Yes there were racist terms used but that's what people aid then. No malice was intended it was just a name. Surely offence is caused by how the "name" is used? Any word can be used in an offensive manner if you choose to use it.

Classic is Guy Gibson, his dog was called Nigger. He was a black labrador. Can I say "black" labrador or is that offensive to the dog? Has the dog taken offence is he upset? Actually he's dead now. so doesn't care. In the remake of the Dambusters film they want to rename his dog! so as not to be offensive.

Its all stupid, Isn't it?
