50 types of pornography

50 shades of pornographic.

This film 50 Shades of Grey - is much hyped recently. even Breakfast TV was "laughing" coyly about it.

OK You're an adult watch it if you want but I suggest DON'T - here's why, apart from it being a mediocre film.

Have they read the book, have any of them? How do these people reconcile their attitude to porn, what about the BBC - promoting it when children are undoubtedly watching? If its not PORN why is it rated 18?

It is a scandal and people (and BBC) should be ashamed.

In the same week a very good article in Saturday's Daily Mail by Sarah Vine highlighted how easy it is to get to hard core porn on the internet and our children are looking at it and being damaged for life by it. They can access stuff that tragically and irreversibly distorts their young minds in their formative years of their view of society. I know because I've seen it. I don't mean that I go surfing for porn, but in my job I have had to "investigate" employees that were circulating Porn via email. We had to collect the evidence, I had to "see" it to check what it was and compile it for management who ultimately dismissed the culprits including a manager.

Believe me some images are so vile that you don't want to see them, and having seen them you can't get them out of your mind even if you want to. I am pretty well balanced and tried to stay detached but it is hard.

If it involves children remember if they are shown in it it is not a victimless crime - these children are being abused, the viewers are ABUSING them too by proxy. 

If no one wanted to see this filth then the kids would not get abused.

That is what "pornography" means, actually we need a word meaning worse than pornography because some of this stuff is unbelievably corrupting. 

YOU DON'T WANT CHILDREN TO SEE IT.

WE MUST STOP IT..

Big Samsung Brother is watching - you!

I think I have said before how many of George Orwell's visions, of a dystopian view of a totalitarian society dominated by media, are coming true!

Here is another example - the Visi-screen - yes now IT is watching us! Truly Big Brother?

Society dominated by media propaganda, wars raging, west versus east, then far east, middle east, North and south all images provided by media to an insatiable public. then there's the endless "voting" for this n that, (mainly "celebrity" non-entities) but Governments are next and does it change anything? no of course not. Then there's Civil Liberties, bit by bit the Police state is tightening the screws and Big Brother is watching, now even in our homes. Government knows where you are and what you've been/are doing in so many ways. Do you use a Credit/debit card - they know where you are. Of course Crime has to be countered - but is it real? Are the Wars real? Maybe as real "American Sniper" - hard to tell?
Pestilence - the Ebola outbreak in Africa - was that real? I've watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - far fetched? Disease wipes out most of mankind and spread from experiments in apes? Hmmmmm?

At least they can't stop what we think - can they?

Captain Phillips 2013

As always Tom Hanks and his acting carries this film, much like Castaway.

Gripping drama but with just a few "why did they do that?" moments.

5* for me.

Gone Girl - 2014 film

Gone Girl - well, just don't make any assumptions.
It flips one way to the other - dead/alive, kidnapped/murdered, something else, did he /didn't he, good guy/bad guy/girl?

Anyway kept my attention for almost 2.5hrs. In the end just left a puzzle - not stisfying really. Those films where you just don't walk backwards or go into a darkened cellar etc.

Kim Dickens, detective Rhonda boney, deserves her own film, I think she has a sensible head.

Devils Knott 2013

bit of a "To kill a mockingbird" but white kids, dabbling in the occult ,  not black. why did they not protest their innocence? Police had the culprits so job done, but why did no one care? Colin Firth all but unrecognisble. entertaining not good. 2/5.

Very silly - entertaining. Only watch if you know about LRP and Dungeons and Dragons games. Also are a heavy metal fan.

watched The Monuments Men. OK. Seemed like the Expendables set in the second world war. not as much action. 5/10.

Thor - the Dark World

worthy episode in the series . Makes more sense if you're following most of the Marvel franchise. London gets the setting for Earth.

Killer elite 2011

Killer elite – Jason  Statham - watched this, typical JS film, gets a bit wooly in the middle is based on a true story, but a bit wrapped up in itself. Seemed obviuos to me in the end.

Kick-Ass II

Actually better than 1 i thought .  Having seen 1 is almost essential . Black humour abounds and twist on the sugary teeny shows is a nice touch. It has a darkly foreboding message of where society may be going especially Social media. Bang up to date. Not for the squeamish. Surely there Will be a 3?

Driving while using a mobile phone

I totally disagree with using a mobile phone whilst driving. Its dangerous - how can you control a car with the other hand holding a phone? I often encounter cars around here (Lincolnshire) with the driver having a mobile clamped to his ear, driving with his elbows! Why, you see they don't get caught. There's no deterrent in fines and points if you stand ZERO chance of getting caught, no police around here. 

Its like drink driving, people now almost universally agree NOT to do it. If you do it you are shunned as a pariah. Its genuine antisocial behaviour. Worse you could kill someone or even yourself. Its exactly the same with a  mobile but when are we gong to treat people the same as a society as DOL drivers?

I also think the same about smoking. If it started today what would folk say about lighting a piece of weed wrapped in paper,  holding it in one hand taking it off the wheel to whilst you were driving , then puffing on it breathing in the smoke! It would be banned. You can't have naked flames in a car! how stupid and dangerous.

Anyway, I watched a film the other night, and have you noticed how in America they often show the actors driving and using a mobile phone! (cell phone). Is it NOT illegal in America? I think the censors should rate these films/programmes X if they show a patently illegal and dangerous act in a film in this country. Or be forced to put a warning on screen, "this film depicts driving whilst using a mobile phone which is contrary to UK Law". If its part of the story like anything else (killing people is illegal but we all know that), then let them show it but like supposedly the rating stops children seeing it and  being influenced (like killing) only adults should be allowed to see it.

Censorship and history

Recent repeat of classic BBC Comedy Fawlty Towers was censored by  BBC. If it was OK when it was first shown why can't we see it now? Yes there were racist terms used but that's what people aid then. No malice was intended it was just a name. Surely offence is caused by how the "name" is used? Any word can be used in an offensive manner if you choose to use it.

Classic is Guy Gibson, his dog was called Nigger. He was a black labrador. Can I say "black" labrador or is that offensive to the dog? Has the dog taken offence is he upset? Actually he's dead now. so doesn't care. In the remake of the Dambusters film they want to rename his dog! so as not to be offensive.

Its all stupid, Isn't it?
