Getting Killed at work?

If I died in an accident at work I would expect my employer to investigated by the HSE for any breaches in "safe Working practices" and if they were negligent I would expect them to be prosecuted. Any one at work expects their employer to use heir duty of care and protect you as far as is reasonably possible.

How come then Ann Maguire a teacher killed in her classroom does NOT appear to have the same protection, Is the school or LEA to be investigated by the HSE? No.

This is scandalous.

What will be done about it - what does her union have to say?

I'll re-iterate what I said about a month ago, its about time the FA decided its "rules" on ex-offenders, these things should not be decided by Mass Mob Hystreria or Social Media. That's why we have LAWS.

Reasons, we have laws in this country for a reason. There are rules around dealing with rehabilitaion of ex-offenders, for example it depends on

• type of offence
• length of sentence.

I believe that if your sentence is less than 2.5 years then after 10 years it can be considered "spent" - ie that means that you don't have to tell anyone about it - you get a fresh start.

So, Ched was sentenced to 5 years so it can never be "spent".

Next if its a sexual offence, as his was, you have to on the Sex offenders register for life. So with for example Teachers they can never teach again or work with children if it was a "sex" offence. MPs can't be Mp's if their offence was more than 1 year sentence and so it goes on.

I say, in my opinion it is up to the FA to decide how they deal with ex-offenders. They need to set down their rules.

I hope now the (Will Cornick) idiot has been sentenced to life the school/Local authority are prosecuted by the HSE for failing their duty to protect her.

I know things can never be totally predicted but surly to bring into school a big carving knife is totally reckless - yes the school must stop this - use scanners if necessary - a teacher's life is priceless for a little inconvenience.

Looking at what was put on Facebook etc. I can't believe there were no signs of his mental state and they should have dealt with it.

Underage sex - the perpetrators are Paedophiles

So at last someone has been actually prosecuted for having sex with a girl under 16.

It has always puzzled me that sex under age is illegal but yet there ar so many girls under 16 having babies. Is the father ever prosecuted? Not usually. Yet if he's over 18 and technically an adult then sex with an under 16 is having sex with a child.

Why do these men not get jailed as paedophile?

I admit that if the girl is 15 and the boy is 16 accidents can happen we've all been there?

So what I'm saying is that we should have zero tolerance of this behaviour its just the thin end of the wedge. Where would you stop.

Imagine a teacher of 35 has sex with a pupil 15 - is he a paedophile? Certainly he's broken the law and should be rightly punished. He is in a position of trust, loco parentis. My argument is if you're an adult and you have sex with a child under 16 its illegal.

Maybe if there were more prosecutions the message would get across?

Yes it was wrong and technically illegal "Child Abduction" - Megan is only 15, but she was willing.

He's now going to be a criminal and lose his job and career. Did they have Sex? If so he's also a child abuser.

However we read stories about under age sex daily, kids of 13/14 having babies and is the Father ever convicted? - no. Look at the Rochdale Sex Grooming issue - did Social Services and the police protect the girls? - no.

It seems to me that on this age we seem to accept that under age sex is really nothing to be bothered about, no harm done. Actually it is CHILD ABUSE! Unless the law protects these children where are we going to end up.

Under age sex ruins lives, 14 yr olds don't want kids - (well actually they do because then they get a "Benefits Meal ticket to a home and income).
