Free Electricity - this IS the answer to the Fuel Crisis?

Free Saturday Electricity- Just a gimmick – should be outlawed. These folk will just gorge themselves on power. How can it make sense? We should all be trying to use LESS electricity. British Gas should reduce prices for everyone. This tariff will be banned.

Solar panels is the answer, everyone should have them. During daylight all my electricity is virtually free (and green). Make use of that, don’t be a Saturday Planet burner.

The Chancellor missed atrick or two today.

5% VAT on home energy - why not abolish it on the first £1500 of bills? WE all have to pay our buills even those on Benefits but because of "Standing Charges" the less you use the more you pay proportionately in TAX. This husrts the poor trying to economise - is that fair. Those on benfits pay often the highest prices especially if they are on a pre-pay meter. The VAT goes up as prices go up. Mr Millionaire doesn't care.

Then there's the GREEN TAX, about 15% goes to pay these muti-billion pound companies raping our countryside witrh subsidised Wind Turbines.

You do realise they get twice the market rate for what they generate (whether it is used or not) and even more when they can't sell it!! Check this out!

What about the BBC? £600million is the cost of Free TV Licences for Pensioners over 75. OK for them but why? Why should anyone pay an ertertainment tax? £145 per houshold to watch TV . But that would lose votes from the over 75's but not if we all were exempt.

Mr OSbourne PRIVATISE THE BBC SAVE US ALL £145 A YEAR. (£32billion a year cost).Does SKY get a subsidy? It might even generate a windfall like selling the Post Office. Come on State Funded Entertainment is NOT a Conservative policy is it. If it were tried now it be laughed out of parliament.

Scam and conspiracy

Yep - Scameron and the osBorne Conspiracy have done it again with this disasterous budget.

Yes £10k before Tax is to be applauded but that's all.

Nowt for married couples. They just gave back thousands to folk on over £150k - poor souls.

1p back on beer and no duty rise on Petrol/diesel. So its less expensive to go to the Pub!

What about those crippled by rising costs of Gas and Electricity? £1500 a year average whatever your income. At least 10% of that is tax and it hits the low earners (I include all income, e.g. pensioners) hardest. If you keep your use to a minimum and you'r on £5k a year 5% VAT hits you hardest especially as Tariffs are highest at the bottom end.

Biliionaire Osborne and co just don't get it.

You can choose to drink beer and use your car. So do you turn the heating off?

Why doesn't everyone pay TAX? Even those on benefits - ITS INCOME!
Look you can have £10 k tax free isn't that enough to live on? Those on £20k benefits pay tax. After all I earn over £20k and then everything I spend is after TAX - seems fair to me.

Tax Breaks for Married Couples at last

Hoorah, at last David Cameron is swayed to give in and Honour his election promise and give a tax break to married couples.

I know David wants Gay Marriage above all else, and I'm not against it but surely he must make it worthwhile. The new "Marriage" tax breaks will have to apply to all civil partnerships, and why not.

If David is promoting "Marriage" that must be good for traditional Marriage as well. Lets be clear here - the Government IS PROMOTING MARRIAGE. So show your support and give Tax Breaks.

No more pussy footing around saying "we can't discriminate against non-married couples. It s their right to choose" - why not?

If they choose to get married then they get the incentive. If their relationship is as sound as a married one - prove it.

All the research show that children do best in families where the couples are married. In Britain we are nearly bottom in the league table for children splitting up from their parents, why. Because our parents do not value a stable family life. Yes its not easy but society demands that families are the best way to bring up children. Why do folk cop out at the first hurdle. If they're not married its a doddle.

Being married confers more that Tax breaks its a commitment to share things. Why should non-married couples have the same rights.

No we must promote marriage.

Yet they are hurting couples with children by taking child allowance away.

My solution TAX all BENEFITS. Its income, but you don't work for it. Yes they'll use thier tax allowance that's only fair and if its a married couple then they can use this tax Break. Higher earners pay more tax.

Oh, last thing, restict Child Benefit to 5 children. There can be no "meal ticket" for having children. Tough.

Scrap Child Benefit?

All this fuss over Child Benefit? Why should folk on over £50k get ANY benefits? Come to that surely only the poorest should get any benefits.  We  seem to have unlimited benefits in this country, why? Surely we shouldn't just keep paying out for unlimited children?
child Benefit
My answer? Limit child Benefit to the first 3 children. We do need children for society to develop. After all as we get older and retire who do you think works and generates the wealth to keep us in our old age?

Conversely why should people get used to living on handouts? If the Government is paying you to live then just like those who work to live - ALL INCOME SHOULD BE TAXED!

So if you're on a low income you pay less or no tax. The more you get the more you pay in TAX. Seems fair?
What makes me cross is where has the commitment to help married couples? If only one works then he/she should share their Tax allowances since its a JOINT income. One person not working allows someone else to have a job opportunity instead of everyone working putting kids in care.Better to have mum or dad looking after them?

Gay Marriage again

Why do we have keep going on and on about Gay Marriage? There are much more  important issues for the Government to consider. For example when is someone (Government) going to challenge Syria about its Human Rights vioaltions? The UN seem impotent, merely forever draing lines in the sand.

Anyway, I suport Gay Marriage mainly because if Gay people can marry and why not? it strenghthens MARRIAGE surely?

The Government should consider spending half the time it does on Gay Marriage on traditional Marriage! If they dod this and brought in the promised Tax advantages to marriage (Gay as well) we would perhaps end up with a better society.

2 people who commit to each other and make a legal contract must be supported. In the end why should non-married people have rights that Married people get? Surely that's the point of Marriage. To get the rights you have to have a contract. That is how law works in all areas.

So if they allow Gay marriage it must follow that they support traditional Marriage. So lets go for it.

Come on David, stop discriminating against non-Gay people.
