this is it - what a simple way to get around the bedroom Tax.
Knock your bedroom walls down!!
Turn your 3 bed in to a 2 bed - SIMPLES.
Problem solved and bigger rooms.
We did it when I was a student. I remember sharing a bedroom. We put the wardrobes down the middle so effectively partitioning off the room.
What stupid sanction by HMG?
Fair enough - only pay so much "Rent" benefit depending on your needs but don't penalise people for having lived in a "X" bedroom [proerty if they have no choice.
This is unfair to expect the poorest to bail out the rest, for Government's mismanagement of the economy while they still et individual Bankers get their obscene large bonuses subsidised by you and me!

Savers are still abandoned
Yes good old HMG launched the Pensioner bonds paying a whopping 4% interest
ABOUT TIME TOO - but Ok if you're 65 plus!
but what about the rest of us? Remember we funded the Banks bales out to the tune of £6000 per person and interest rates plummeted to 1% or less.
If HMG want money to pay for stuff (and they do) "borrrowing" it from us in the form of savings/bonds is ideal they could at least help us out for helping them out (the Banks) saving their bacon but plunging us into recession. It been the worst 5 year in my life don't know about you?
I 've been looking and most savings account pay around 0.5 to 1.5% at best and then you have to lock it away for years.
I despair but what can we do. Nowt will happen.

Living Wage increase good
I think they should increase the Living Wage, but will people get it?
When folk on benefits can get over £25000 it doesn't seen fair.
To me simple answer - TAX ALL BENEFITS
This way we're all equal. Those on low wages get benefits and pay tax why not those just on benefits? Only exception should be those benefits that are for disability. then when they go back to work they can't claim that "its not worth it" - after deductions they're worse off.
I'd also ensure that unused Tax allowances can be rolled up say over three years so that when they do go back to work they can pay less tax if they're on low wages. Some Tax allowances are rolled up over several years like Capital gains tax on properties so why not personal allowances?
Only thing is David sCameron - where is the promised Married Person's allowance?

Will the lights go out this winter ? Maybe.
Will the lights go ut this winter we are warned the margin is small. Yes this is what happens when Governments allow reckless Companies to cash in on the Gas boom of the 80's and 90's. Gas power should only be used for "topping up" power at times of peak demand yet Gas power stations were all rage - they were cheap to build and run, low in pollution (but not CO2) and reaped in the payments. North Sea gas has gone and you don't see so many now.
Wind Power is unreliable - what we don't want is prolonged cold and no wind, then Russia might turn the Gas off. We've even less of a store of Gas - that might worry you. the cold winter before we got down to 1 yes 1 days supply! I can sit in the dark as long as the heatings on. Without Gas what do you do - light a fire.? In the power cut ther's no "heater" to put on.
Be worried. it take 10 years to build a new Nuclear power station. They are just starting on the first one for over 20 years that's why we're in trouble. What about tidal - its reliable, renewable and non polluting and could help with flood defences.
We all need to shout about it.

this IS why UKIP is winning. The Main 3 parties still don't get it.
Tamara Cohen writes in the Daily Mail but quotes a Matthew Parris article from The Times in which he rails against the Voters of Clacton and dismisses them as insignificant.
I think he's very patronising of thousands of voters across the country - he is exactly right about their values and attitudes but we all have a vote don't we and if enough don't Vote for the "Big Three" then someone else is getting the votes and will Win.
He patronises and denigrates these voters with his words. If he is right then what is wrong with these people - are they not free to live their lives as they choose, not how MP chooses?
Somebody has to represent the static caravans and holiday villages, and the people and places that for no fault of their own are not getting where a 21st century Britain needs to be going.
There are many in a place like this who might be attracted again to the Tories by a noisy display of hostility towards immigration-and-Europe, political correctness and health-and-safety: hostility to a Britain that has forgotten the joys of Ken Dodd, meat pies, smoking in pubs and the Bee Gees
He IS right that part of Britain MUST move into the 21st Century and make the wealth. There is a lot of these in the South East and they are not living in Clacton. What he doesn't realise is how people feel North of Watford. They are hard working but still they do not see the wealth of the SE, they are sick of the Bankers Bonuses that are telephone numbers but WE have bailed out these reckless Bankers and see the Establishment as in bed with them so what are they going to do for us?
With attitudes like yours Matthew they will no vote Tory or Labour because Milliband is not Working Class - he's just as out of touch with real life as the rest.

Energy prices up or down?
So now because apparently Wholesale Gas prices have halved this year and the campaign is to get the Energy Companies to cut their prices.
Actually I AM in favour of saving the planet. We need to cut down on energy use, that is the best way until FUSION power is here. It will be decades before we don't need to use Fossil fuels and its those that are contributing to the CO2. Reduce GAS prices we just use more! This is the argument for FRACKING - cheap energy. It just means more CO2 and so more Turbines to offset it!
WASTE OF TIME - cut down!!
Remember that 5% is VAT - good old HMG get more as prices rise!
To me this is unfair on the poorest. Often they are stuck with the highest tariffs so proportionately pay the highest TAX. The rich can shop around and when you're on a big wad Heating bills are insignificant!
Why TAX those on benefits?
I say CUT the VAT on all bills less than £2000 per year and scrap the GREEN levy. Taxing the poor to pay the rich is immoral.
Why all the Windfarms and Solar panels? Its Cos you get DOUBLE your money in subsidies!! HaHa!
Hasn't anyone noticed?
I despair.

Childen's education - when should it start?
I agree in one sense the earlier and better we educate our children the better for society.
Its too late when children get to secondary school and they can't read and write properly. This is where the underachieving comes in. They get distracted and won't learn. Yes there are some gifted and dedicated teachers who can tap into these kids and get them motivated to at least learn the basics to function in society. Too often its too little and too late, They disrupt lessons for the others and then get excluded. They end up on the scrap heap unemployed often into drugs and crime.
To me get them early while they are manageable and EDUCATE them, the regards to society will be tenfold.
We'll get a much better progressing society. Politicians go on about social mobility but its not pushing them into the best schools or Universities if they haven't got it then it won't get them anywhere.
The majority should be able to learn the basics. If I'd left school at eleven I'd be Ok in society. I went on to be stretched (in a grammar school) to go to Uni and get a degree. In those days it was the minority and we got a grant. How "socially mobile"is that? No matter what your background or income you get the opportunity to go to uni.
Now its still Money that buys privilege and I mean MONEY. Look at the top politicians all Eton educated.
I agree it should be the parents who teach these things to their tots not schools responsibility but when we've let a couple of generations get away with it , learning little, they don't know what to do. It IS up to society to educate the children - give it another generation and we'll turn it around.
Look at Asia/China they are doing it now. They educate their children rigorously and now they're the powerhouse of the world, EVERYTHING is Made in China. We don't make much anymore - soon we won't be able to afford. Made in China.

It IS A fiasco
Thank you Chancellor for raising the Limit on ISAs to £15k and amalgamating Cash and Stocks & Shares Isas into the allowance, Wonder why he's raised the allowance? Well currying favour with the Grey Vote - too little too late. Savings are the lowest for along time. Why save when your money is losing value all the time, interest rates are pathetic. Tax on very lkittle is very little so he's not losing much at all.
If you wonder why people don't take up ISA's then its because
If you wonder why people don't take up ISA's then its because
- Interest rates are pathetic Interest on £5k or interest on £15 ? well 3 x 0 = 0
- Banks con you - attractive rate for first year then plummets to nothing - do they tell you - well in the small print but hope by next year you've forgaotten
- Banks con you - various restirictions - can't move from one ISA to another, no transfers in, penalties for withrawals etc.
- Ordinary Peopl e are poor - they need their money to live.
- If you've more than£15k put it somewhere else
Bet sCameron and co don't bother!
I could mention similar things about pensions - another day.
This country has been hurt by low interest rates. Saving is the life blood - spend only when you can afford it, borrowing is what got us in this mess. If Osborne upped the savings rates in say National Savings then he'd rake in money which he could use to start the economy moving. That's the way it used to be. If everybody's borroing then where does the money actuyally come from?

Energy Companies "fleecing the poor" - Official
If you read this the Government accepts that they amounted to a tax on some of the poorest in society.
I've argued this before but now it seems MPs are taking it seriously at last.
Meaning that also these million people who also pay 5% VAT and the GREEN tax on their Energy are also being "Fleeced" by the Government. Taxing the Poor so they can give to the Rich - the Energy Companies who put up Windfarms paid for out of these taxes. When will they finally GET IT?
It is disproportionate tax on the poorest

Dementia - living death!
So, the Government pledges to DOUBLE spending on Dementia by 2025. Big Deal!
Yes increased spending can only be good but doubling peanuts in 10 years is still peanuts.
WE have a crisis in Pensions, people a re living longer but what quality of life? What if you live to 80 but the last 5 years you were in a care home, bed bound and dribbling?
Surely money spent on curing dementia will actually save the country millions and let these people lead active fulfilling lives INDEPENDENTLY?
Makes seems to me.

Hooray for New Nuclear Power Station at Hinkley Point - No to Asserby Windfarm
I'm against Windfarms and Nuclear but in this case I think we've got a good deal for the New Hinkley point Power station from EDF and the Chinese.
Forget for now my anti- Nuclear stance for another day. In this case I think the £92.50 per Megawatt hour they will get. Remember this is not until 2023. Quite probably the price of electricity will have doubled by then. the wholesale price is£50 per MWH right now. It has doubled in the last 10 years and this power station is about 10years late due to the last Governments dithering and the Dash-for-gas - which is why we're in a pickle now.
WE NEED THE POWER.
IT WILL ONLY GIVE US 7% (Less than a tenth what we need). What else will they build?
Compared to Wind Energy which is unreliable at least this will give us a reliable decent chunk.
Don;t forget that £92.50 per MWH
WINDFARMS already get £100 per MWH and £155 per MWH if they're at sea. This payment is index linked until 2037. No wonder all these wind turbines are going up. Its not to power Britain just to make the Landowners very rich.
Who's complaining about that?
Not to forget that Windfarms get paid for NOT Generating electricity - now what about that!
Who's is complaining that they get over £200 per MWH when NOT generating electricity. these are known as Constraint payments and are perfectly legal under current (daft) rules.
Windfarms get the wholesale price for selling their electricity plus 1 ROC on land, 2 ROCs at sea.
When the Grid doesn't want their electricity, for example when its WINDY and WARM in summer they CHARGE compensation to the GRID but can get £220 per MWH.
Is this not JUST PLAIN STUPID?
Complain to Dave about this. Tell him to cut the ROCS and build proper power stations. Or does he just like to be plain sCameron?
We're not fooled.

Energy Price Hike - what should Dave do?
Now we are being hit, just when the winter begins. Last winter was bad enough I guess our bills went up by around 15% because of the cold.
On my bill there is approximately 15% that is Tax. 5% is VAT the rest is the Social Payment! That is what they pay to the Windfarm Gold Miners.
OBSCENE. Pensioners and people on beneits are Taxed to make greedy landowners ever RICHER. Robbing the poor to make the rich richer,
Have I mentioned the MILLIONS that the Windfarm owners GENERATE in income?
LOOK
4 x Turbines producing 10MWh
Even at 30% efficiency over 25 years they GENERATE
£61 million!!
Not to mention if they're in the wrong place and can't export their power the owners get even MORE in CONSTRAINT payments.
Appallingly obscene.
WE'RE Paying for this. Write to your MP to get it stopped.

WindFarms - Government seeing the Scam?
Yes some chink of light from the Government - even though they themselves can't agree, that Wind Farms are divisive. Some landowners get RICH - yes Generating Money). Now Owen Paterson seems to be on the sensible side.
see my evidence below.
Quote "But the Conservative Environment Secretary Owen Paterson says some people consider wind farms a complete scam - and the prime minister recently said he didn't expect many more wind farms in the British countryside."
The infrastructure isn't there, its like open cast mining but above ground taking away our countryside forever! Balcombe type protests would appear.
Lets keep up the message to them - Wind Energy is wasting loads of OUR money.

The Grey Vote deserts Cameron
This is what I want to see. Surely the over 55's have had enough. They make us work till we die, raid our savings and take away our Pensions and benefits - does Cameron seriously think he'll get our vote next time?
He needs our money but he could have it if he asked nicely. Pay some serious interest rates and protect pensions (pension funds - they have billions) and then he can borrow our money to get out of the mess.
Not slash interest rates yet again.

Marriage tax breaks as Cameron caves
Oh dear Cameron may be bowing to pressure and insisting on the "promised" tax breaks to married couples?
I hope so.
After all it WAS in the manifesto, (I think so was a vote on the EU). Gay marriage wasn't. So do we believe him?
Maybe he's worried that middle of the road voters have seen though sCamerons' ploy and the next election may not be so good. This is just the tonic to get him those extra votes?
Maybe.
We'll see - lets see if the Tories can be believed?

Last Word on Margaret Thatcher
Sad news that she's passed away. RIP Maggie.
Whatever you think she was our one and only Woman Prime Minister. Whether you agree with her politics or not she did stick to her guns which is more that sCameron does. (Does he belive in anything?).
Remember when she came to power Britain was a basket case. We were worse that Greece/Ireland/Cyprus are now. We need a bailout from th eIMF to keep going. No wonder things were dire. Drastic actions was called for, curb the power of the unions, and cut out waste. We couldn't afford to subsidise all those nationalised industries like coal and rail.
Then it was a courtesy of Labour's legacy. Now they've done it again. Blair and co have left us Bankrupt again, we need a Thatcher to rescue us again.

Scam and conspiracy
Yep - Scameron and the osBorne Conspiracy have done it again with this disasterous budget.
Yes £10k before Tax is to be applauded but that's all.
Nowt for married couples. They just gave back thousands to folk on over £150k - poor souls.
1p back on beer and no duty rise on Petrol/diesel. So its less expensive to go to the Pub!
What about those crippled by rising costs of Gas and Electricity? £1500 a year average whatever your income. At least 10% of that is tax and it hits the low earners (I include all income, e.g. pensioners) hardest. If you keep your use to a minimum and you'r on £5k a year 5% VAT hits you hardest especially as Tariffs are highest at the bottom end.
Biliionaire Osborne and co just don't get it.
You can choose to drink beer and use your car. So do you turn the heating off?
Why doesn't everyone pay TAX? Even those on benefits - ITS INCOME!
Look you can have £10 k tax free isn't that enough to live on? Those on £20k benefits pay tax. After all I earn over £20k and then everything I spend is after TAX - seems fair to me.

Bonkers Government gives more money to the rich
Here we go again this Bonkers Government gives out more money to rich WORKING people
What about the Election pledge to help Married Couples (they may have children as well)?
Also would help Gay people in Civil Partnerships.
Giving money out (MY MONEY) to couples who put their kids in child care is Bonkers
In these times of austerity isn't ONE breadwinner per family enough One stays at home to look after the children. If you can't afford childcare don't do it!
If Married couples had tax breaks then the one who stays at home would be helped by more income from the one working.
Raising children by their parents is by FAR the best way - statistics and endless studies have proved it. Being in a MARRIAGE is also the best way. There is NO equality for "Living together" - I'm not stopping you but if you want the benefits (not social security) real benefits for you and you r family, not to mention SOCIETY then get married!!
SIMPLE
You know it makes sense.
Think of the jobs this would create. All these mums n dads stopping at home, who would do their jobs? Also yes they would have less money, but cut down.
Sky TV is NOT your human right, even though prisoners get it.
