Proud to be British?

Yes lets all be honest and say "we are proud to be British and we value our culture and way of life".

People of any nationality, race, colour creed etc. are welcome here but they must respect our society culture and values. If they object to our way of life then there is the way home for them back to their country.
If we visit their country do they not expect us to respect their culture and way of life? - yes.

I say an end to appeasement and political correctness. We have our laws and anyone, yes anyone British or not who breaks them must face the full wight of our laws. All men are equal in our country.

Shocking evidence of how Halal meat is slaughtered. Be warned. Yes the sheep are to die but in this country we have laws against cruelty to animals I thought there were laws too about how slaughter houses had to STUN animals before killing them?

Holocaust Memorial Day 27th January

It is Holocaust Memorial Day 27th January. It will be the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Events in Paris and recently demonstrate that lessons are still to be learned of Man's inhumanity to Man.

HMD is about reminding us not just of the events 70years ago- but of every act of Genocide and Hate Crime that still occurs.

There won't be many more actual survivors to tell the stories. If they tell one person though then the memory survives to remind us of the HORROR.

We tolerate all faiths, colours and creeds in Britain - providing they obey our laws.

If what they want to do is against our law then why don't they leave and go somewhere where they can practice it? For example in Abu Dhabi we cannot drink alcohol and if we visit there we respect their laws.

Max Hastings sums up neatly what I was thinking - "why?". "What are these so called Muslims fighting for?".

Apart from the failure of the Paris Police to let them escape in the first place, I ask can anyone explain exactly what these Radical Muslims think that they are fighting against?

Perhaps Max is right that we don't understand because who is the enemy? Its not another country with borders. Its an ideology and religion. Its not so long ago that we were persecuting fellow Christians for having a different way of worshipping. After 2000 years of Christianity we are only just coming to terms with it so how do we expect Muslims who are much younger to evolve into a similar state.

I well remember the IRA campaign in the 70's and 80's again we struggled to understand "why?" and treated them merely as criminals but that didn't stop them.

I don't know what the answer is but we MUST keep up the vigilance and find out potential attackers before they attack. They are anywhere and everywhere. Yes it will diminish our civil liberties but don't blame the authorities its the criminals and terrorists who are doing it. What is the alternative?

BBC wastes Taxpayers money

How dare they waste our money, my money on such rubbish.

I don't know how in 21st Century Britain it is allowed that an organisation that answers to no one collects over £3.7billion in taxpayers money and spends it on "ENTERTAINMENT"?

If it was your local Council they would have to answer to the voters. Councils are being squeezed dry yet the BBC can spend all this money on the Likes of Jeremy Clarkson upsetting the Argentinians. Nothing happens.
I don't have any feelings for the Argentinians but i do object to the BBC sending Clarkson over there to upset them. Perhaps second thoughts it was a good idea but only if he STAYED there.

Any way if you agree write to your MP and demand that the Government sells off the BBC.

£3billion pounds is 3% of what the NHS spends and they could do with more money, what would you Rather have, you r cancer treatment or Eastenders? I know I might not get the answer I want but then some folk don't agree with me,

So be it.

Privatise the BBC. Stop this waste. Look at all those screens on behind the news readers no one there, if you Council did that they'd soon get sorted out.

More evidence today to support my stance. THey say that  they are "saving money". I know a way to save over £3billion....... Privatise the BBC!

Top Gear starts second Falklands War?

Top gear could have made sensational headlines as above - maybe? Well it seems the Argies aren't happy with Jeremy Clarkson and co who were filming a Top Gear "stunt" there.

Were they aware of possible significance of the number plated Porsche? "oh dear, no" they said - "you bet they were " I SAY.

Heavens sake this is Top Gear they like to court controversy - why does JC work for the BBC? He's nearly been sacked a couple of times but they let him off.

Weather the BBC like TG because they can sell it is one thing, as a Taxpayer funded organisation I say "NO WAY". How on earth is the BBC allowed to do these things? If it was a private company fair enough - they take the consequences, but when  you and I are paying for it. In these days of austerity, the Government wants to cut Benefits to make ends meet, how about letting every body be £145 a year better off. Abolish the Licence fee, and Privatise the BBC.

MP John Whittingdale who chairs the Culture and Media committee said that "it was getting harder to sustain the license fee".

Too right when the bloated BBC languishes fat salaries on endless "executives", insane "stars", ridiculous "presenters" (Claudia Winkelman £250,000) and wastes money provoking other countries, do we really expect this on our hard earned money. If even a minute fraction of any of this was done by say your local council (taxpayer funded) or your MP (taxpayer funded) there would out cry "sack them" but this is hte BBC (Taxpayer Funded).

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

News Corporation is still feeling the effects of the "Phone Hacking" scandal - what are the sanctions on the BBC - I think its too much part of the establishment - hence why Jimmy Saville got away with it for so long. Maybe there is change in the air?

They sold off the Post Office, if Sky can be profitable then why not the BBC,? It gets over £3 billion pounds a year to make "entertainment"!! how can this be in 2014?

i think everyone would agree that we should stop arming the Isis rebels. have you noticed the trucks they are using are Toyotas. its blatantly obvious does Toyota want this publicity? if the world turned against them, would agree it make a difference ? Sometimes big business has more power than governments.

Why Cover Up

I am for Religious Freedom, but in our country we are open and honest. Why hide?

Its our basic freedom, we know those with something to hide HIDE so why do some people insist on these niqabs?

They can be exploited for evil. It does no good.

When there are riots on the street the thugs cover up to hide their identity and it is now law the police can make them uncover so why are these veils different.

People going into Building Societies/Banks are not allowed to wear MotorCycle Helmets so these folk to should uncover.

I remember when Sikhs protested about not being allowed to wear Turbans instead of Helmets - they lost. A Turban will not save you in a crash.

Now its all about terrorism - we need to be able to identify people. If you've nothing to hide why should you care. It is our culture after all. What they do in other countries is up to them. If we go abroad we have to respect their society.

Now we see a rebellion amongst women - they must be free to choose, this must not be imposed on them - equality?

Women Bishops

So, should the CofE allow women bishops?

Let me ask, in the 21st Century why should women NOT be bishops? What exactly is the reason why a woman cannot be a Bishop?

We think that forcing a woman to wear a Burka is morally wrong, so what is or reason for denying a woman's rights to be a bishop.
