Electric cars are NOT green

This is what I want to see, Hydrogen Cars,  but not pumping Hydrogen in, making electricity from water via solar power!

Surely a "Fuel Cell" that does this can be made?

Crazy - now conventional Electric cars are "rocketing" ! well maybe they would if they ran on ROCKET fuel!
Look  they get £5k from HMG (US!) but they're not cheap, even the lowly "VW i-up" (if were a Yorkshire car it would be the "aye-up" - I digress), is £25k! Who can afford these cars? yep RICH folk so why should they get £5k subsidy for a ridiculous car that only does <100 miles.="">
Crazy. Just Like Wind Turbines - Robin Hood -in-reverse - taking from poor folk (US) and giving to the rich!

Bedroom Tax Loophole

this is it - what a simple way to get around the bedroom Tax.

Knock your bedroom walls down!!

Turn your 3 bed in to a 2 bed - SIMPLES.

Problem solved and bigger rooms.

We did it when I was a student. I remember sharing a bedroom. We put the wardrobes down the middle so effectively partitioning off the room.

What stupid sanction by HMG?

Fair enough - only pay so much "Rent" benefit depending on your needs but don't penalise people for having lived in a "X" bedroom [proerty if they have no choice.

This is unfair to expect the poorest to bail out the rest, for Government's mismanagement of the economy while they still et individual Bankers get their obscene large bonuses subsidised by you and me!

Fuel Poverty is a Scandal

I've said it before it is grossly unfair that the poorest in society have the most expensive fuel bills.
Planners back Goole Fields 2 image
Don't believe me? Think about it.

  • Most tariffs are geared at people who can afford to have big bills, the more you use the cheaper per unit it gets.
  • Also with the standing charge even if you used NOTHING you'd still have a bill to pay.
  • All bills have 5% VAT, so the higher the price the more HMG gets
  • Regardless of your income - you may be on benefits or a pension YOU pay VAT
  • If you're on a pre-payment meter - you pay in advance and can't swap supplier.
  • Prepayment meters are the dearest tariff
  • The GREEN Tax - another 10-15% goes to GREEN energy - what's that? Paying big businesses millions to build Wind Turbines that only work a third of the time, the rest of the time they get paid even more! Unbelievable - check it out.
  • The Big Green 'uns get paid even more.
  • If you're in arrears you can't swap suppliers.
  • Poorest people live in homes with the worst efficient heating/insulated homes.
  • Poorest people often can't manage their heating.
Need I go on? Basically VAT and the Green Tax is a Robin Hood in reverse Tax, making the poorest pay the most so the Rich get richer.

Energy prices up or down?

So now because apparently Wholesale Gas prices have halved this year and the campaign is to get the Energy Companies to cut their prices.

Actually I AM in favour of saving the planet. We need to cut down on energy use, that is the best way until FUSION power is here. It will be decades before we don't need to use Fossil fuels and its those that are contributing to the CO2. Reduce GAS prices we just use more! This is the argument for FRACKING - cheap energy. It just means more CO2 and so more Turbines to offset it!

WASTE OF TIME - cut down!!

Remember that 5% is VAT - good old HMG get more as prices rise!

To me this is unfair on the poorest. Often they are stuck with the highest tariffs so proportionately pay the highest TAX. The rich can shop around and when you're on a big wad Heating bills are insignificant!

Why TAX those on benefits?

I say CUT the VAT on all bills less than £2000 per year and scrap the GREEN levy. Taxing the poor to pay the rich is immoral.

Why all the Windfarms and Solar panels? Its Cos you get DOUBLE your money in subsidies!! HaHa!

Hasn't anyone noticed?

I despair.

Childen's education - when should it start?

I agree in one sense the earlier and better we educate our children the better for society.
Its too late when children get to secondary school and they can't read and write properly. This is where the underachieving comes in. They get distracted and won't learn. Yes there are some gifted and dedicated teachers who can tap into these kids and get them motivated to at least learn the basics to function in society. Too often its too little and too late, They disrupt lessons for the others and then get excluded. They end up on the scrap heap unemployed often into drugs and crime.
To me get them early while they are manageable and EDUCATE them, the regards to society will be tenfold.

We'll get a much better progressing society. Politicians go on about social mobility but its not pushing them into the best schools or Universities if they haven't got it then it won't get them anywhere.

The majority should be able to learn the basics. If I'd left school at eleven I'd be Ok in society. I went on to be stretched (in a grammar school) to go to Uni and get a degree. In those days it was the minority and we got a grant. How "socially mobile"is that? No matter what your background or income you get the opportunity to go to uni.

Now its still Money that buys privilege and I mean MONEY. Look at the top politicians all Eton educated.

I agree it should be the parents who teach these things to their tots not schools responsibility but when we've let a couple of generations get away with  it , learning little, they don't know what to do. It IS up to society to educate the children - give it another generation and we'll turn it around.

Look at Asia/China they are doing it now. They educate their children rigorously and now they're the powerhouse of the world, EVERYTHING is Made in China. We don't make much anymore - soon we won't be able to afford. Made in China.

Austerity - How low can we go

Government is saving money by cutting - cutting benefits, cutting cash to Local Government, cutting Taxes! Oh yes that makes the Rich Richer!

How low can we go - do you need/want your local council services?

My council is considering cutting cleaners.

Taking all waste bins out of offices and putting them in corridors, staff will have to walk out to the corridor to put their banana skins/tea bags whatever in the bin. They'll need less cleaners, less bins to empty and it will be quicker and easier.

Saving money on cleaners. But aren't they the lowest paid? What about waste at the top? Chief officers etc.

This is a rich country but how low can we go to save money so the rich can get richer. Bankers still get their bonuses and who bailed them out a few years ago?

Energy Companies "fleecing the poor" - Official

If you read this the Government accepts that they amounted to a tax on some of the poorest in society.

I've argued this before but now it seems MPs are taking it seriously at last.

Meaning that also these million people who also pay 5% VAT and the GREEN tax on their Energy are also being "Fleeced" by the Government. Taxing the Poor so they can give to the Rich - the Energy Companies who put up Windfarms paid for out of these taxes. When will they finally GET IT?

It is disproportionate tax on the  poorest

Sunday, 22 December 2013

Are the lights going off?

I've said this before - the country does not have a coherent Energy policy. This helps confirm this.

Robbing the poor to pay the rich (to build windfarms) will not solve the problem.

Hunger is Back

I agree that in the 7th richest nation we should not have poverty and hunger but I look at Jack's petition and wonder why the biggest epidemic we are facing is Obesity!

Why are people so FAT? Walk down any street and you see FAT people. You see ads on TV for slimming and endless programmes about FOOD. No wonder we're Fat.

Why do they advertise Alcohol so glamorously - it makes you cool, you drive fast cars (drive and drink?) live the fast life with pretty girls and flash friends all drinking, (responsibly of course). How dare they advertise Alcohol so? Its should be banned.

Anyway back to poverty - why are we giving millions to other countries that can afford to send satellites into space when we have poor here and we are ,cutting benefits because the "country can't afford them?". Another of sCameron's conspiracies?

Yes - nearly 3000 Millionaire Bankers on their bloated bonuses!

HA! they don't live in the real world, a bit of poverty would do them good. After all WE rescued the Banks and its our money. Another case of this reverse Robin Hood Government - robbing the poor to give to the rich.

RWE NOT building Windfarm - Against Asserby Windfarm

Hoorah! Perhaps this is the beginning of the End? Maybe when the Government understands the public anger against a policy of taxing the poor to pay the Rich (Energy Companies) is morally and ethically wrong, they'll adjust the phenomenal payments they give for Green Energy making it nonviable merely as a profit making exercise?

Sunday, 10 November 2013

How dare they? Energy companies profit from your money

Have you ever wondered if you could get millions of people to lend you £100 for nowt. Then you'd put it in a building society account and collect the interest? Million in interest.

Well I suppose this is what the energy companies do.

You pay £x a month your bill but when you're in credit and there must be millions in their bank accounts surely they can sit on it an collect millions in interest?

DO we get any "credit" for it - no.

All they do is put their prices up by 10% plus! No one else would get away with it but what can you do, you've got to have electricity and gas? Well you could switch, try Quidco.

British Gas rise

No surprise BG put up prices just 10+% is a bit steep . The rest Will follow . What do we do? People Will revolt . It Will take a while but when it bites? Riots? Its the government's fault. There's been no sensible policy for years. Dash for gas, no nuclear ~ now no gas, coal shutting down. if like France we had solid cheap nuclear now the prices would be stable. For now they could help by cutting VAT. Why tax the poorest ?

WindFarm Anger - Andrew Marr show - Ed Davey is WRONG!

Just had the biggest LIE from Ed Davey on the Andrew Marr show.

He said "Windfarms only get paid when they generate electricity".

This is a LIE.

Constraint payments pay them for NOT generating electricity. We pay the greedy windfarm owners even more to NOT generate electricity.

Is this right?

Also because the infrastructure is not there yes they get paid for generating electricity but then it isn't used by the Grid. So what use is that?

Sorry Andrew - get him back and put him right.

No 2 asserby Windfarm and Turbines everywhere, except for m

Are you happy to pay your £34 to make the Turbine builders Millionaires?
What have I said before, don't forget that of your typical annual bill of £1300 5% is VAT, or £65 so the Government keeps getting a bigger share of the profits as well as prices keep rising.

Mr Milliband is thinking right, but what he should do is remove VAT on the first £1000 of your bill. Its the poorest who are trying to save money by cutting back who pay the most. Tariffs for prepayment are the highest and often these folk are on benefits or fixed incomes. They cut back to save but still pay tax to keep warm when they pay no Tax on their income - come on Mr Milliband do the Labour thing.

Yet - I can't have a Domestic Turbine in my garden Planning Permission won't allow!

No to Wind Farms

I'm still saying it - please tell your MP we don't want our Hard Earned Cash going to make the Power Companies even fatter. They can't lose. When the prices go up they only make 5% profit - boo hoo! I am sorry. Some business cannot make ANY profit!!

We all bailed out the Banks and they still get their salaries and FAT bonuses. Why should the power companies get FAT. I mean why pay the Wind Farm operators to NOT generate electricity - they can't lose either. They get  3 times the rate for a Megawatt of power for NOT Generating -

IS THIS MAD OR WHAT?

So not the Daily Mail has seen the madness of Constraint payments and is showing what a rip off Wind Farms are.Now there is another Money Generating Scheme - Forward Trades.

Lets stop it.

When a typical energy bill is £1300 per annum and over £200 is Tax that makes nearly 20% tax you and I pay. Is this fair on the poorest and those on fixed incomes when those companies can afford to build multi million pound wind Farms to generate Multi Millions of money!

Lost Pensions Scandal

I've said this before people pay into pensions and then change jobs and its lost. This is the biggest scandal. We need the Swiss system, where your pot goes with you for life.

The Government should not let the Bankers make millions yet again at our expense. Capped fees and if people know their pension is safe they'll be more inclined to save. Saving helps the Government and we all share in the benefits.

Come on don't let this go on as another osBorne Conspiracy!

Pay in little and the bankers take their share and make millions out of us all.

1953 Floods on Lincolnshire Coast

So today is the 60th anniversary of the disastrous floods on the Lincolnshire and the whole East Coast of England - January 31st 1953.

Let us remember the ones who died - 42 in Lincolnshire, I think over 1300 in Holland and Belgium, over 300 in England in total. Regardless of Global Warming lets remember the awful power of nature.

Unfortunately this area of Lincolnshire is now one of the most deprived in Europe. It has a demographic population of over 55s much greater than average and also because of low incomes there are a greater number in fuel poverty.

It seems the Government and council are unwilling to help because of the "Flood Risk". I can see that they don't want to put more people at risk but there are alternative arguments.

What should we do - just evacuate all the people and turn it into a no-mans land?

It seems there are Wind Farm builders Queuing up to build their Wind Turbines - I know they can be built in the sea, there are hundreds off shore at the moment, but do they really want to put them on land that will flood? Or should we let them - the price being to beef up the sea defences for the Locals?

Its a choice to be made.

Alternatively with land so cheap etc. why can't other industries be attracted? After all we've seen in the last couple of years there are parts of the inland country that are prone to floods where it was previously unheard of. Weigh that one up - Environment Agency.

Energy Prices UP - Interest rates for Savers DOWN

So what are we to do? they're all as bad. Energy companies all put their prices up - all Banks put their interest rates down.

Remember on Energy prices (Gas and Electricity, and home fuels) out Government takes 5% VAT and about 7% in the GREEN levy. Green - what they mean is give it to energy companies - as if they don't have enough of our money anyway - to build Wind Turbines which are Useless. If the Wind doesn't blow what do we do? shut off out TV and computers and go to bed?

Did you know 1 small gas fired power station is equivalent to 5000 Wind Turbines - YES 5000. So how many turbines would it take to power the country? I think we'd need one per person and then we have to have Gale Force winds to get the power (oh I forgot they don't generate in Gales either).

I wrote to my MP about the VAT on home fuel, he sent it on to the Minister who replied (after 2 months) with baloney about Duty on Petrol and Diesel. So it proves they haven't a clue what they're talking about.

I've said before - VAT on home fuel is the most unfair Tax hitting the poorest hardest. You can't avoid paying it, even if you try to economise usually you're on the most expensive tariff because they discount it the more you use, so the rich folk get fuel cheaper. Isn't this always the way? Millionaires don't pay 45% tax, they get accountants to come up with ways to avoid paying.

Cataclysm on East Coast

I'm fed up with all this doom and gloom about floods on the East Coast, Lincolnshire.

East Lindsey council now want Caravan sites to be only occupied over the summer 6 months because of the risk of flooding in Winter.

They've just had an exhibition "celebrating"the 60th anniversary of the flood disaster in

1953, (actually it is next year in January) they want to highlight (FRIGHTEN us about) the
increased risk of flooding due to Global warming.
ELDC have also refused planning permission to Southview leisure to open their park for
holiday makers for the full year and are limiting them to 10 months. New applications will
only be 6 months as I said because of the winter risk.
Excuse me but what about the residents? Do they somehow remain immune from flooding over
winter? Or will future planning rules restrict residents to 6months of the year. Where do
we have to go in winter (into Caravans!!). Will new builds (if there ever are any more) be
restricted to Summer only? This is all ridiculous

Actually look at the facts. The Sea defences are vastly improved since 1953.
The Environment agency spend £6m a year on them.
Since 1953 the population (houses) must have increased 10 fold since then - why impose these
restrictions now - surely its already too late. They must PROTECT us.
What do they do in Holland etc. What about London - a surge will affect millions as well but
we're only country bumpkins - not worth the bother here, there's nothing worth protecting?
Actually what about the Theddlethorpe Gas terminal. If that goes under then the country has
a BIG problem - no gas to heat your homes etc

Why don't they go the Whole Hog and buy all us residents out so we can move to higher land. Of course those on benefits won't have to buy another house they can rent one FREE on their benefits - just move them. At £6m a year over 10 years they can buy up 400 of the average house at £150k. Of course many homes are worth less here as prices are lower so more can be bought. The Environment Agency have a 50 year plan anyway so that equals 2000 homes and they could put more money in and get it over with. Then don't bother defending the shoreline. Let the Caravanners come for summer and take a risk.
