Green Energy swindle?

Green Energy like Solar panels on your roof or Wind Turbines are seen as green but HMG wants to cut subsidies to save money , why?
ls
A fraction of the Nuclear subsidy could be given back to encourage folk to put solar panels on their homes to save money on their bills. The energy companies don't like it but its still pennies compared to CONSTRAINT payments that Wind Farms get to NOT generate electricity. When it’s too windy we can't use all the power so they are guaranteed a refund for actually NOT being able to sell their electricity. Now that is true Alice in Wonderland economics

Subsidise home energy not multi-nationals

A fraction of the Nuclear subsidy could be given back to encourage folk to put solar panels on their homes to save money on their bills. Not Electric cars - run them on water!

Toyota has the right idea a fuel cell car powered by Hydrogen. Electric cars - plugging them in is like old phones before Mobiles were invented. Won't catch on, or they can crack the "induction power charging"?

What they need is to be generating the Hydrogen from water - using solar power. Maybe just a top up at home - generate your own hydrogen from solar power all day every day. Fill up when you get home. Or they'll come up with solid Hydrogen, like say "beads"that you don't need a pressurised tank for - much safer.
Who knows?

Who is EnergieKontor?

German companies come here and exploit our subsidies for "green" energy, which we don't need. They take the money and laugh at us.
Wind Power is NOT GREEN. Its an industrial mess designed to make clever European's rich!
Look at EnergieKontor. A Small company designed t exploit English planning laws to get rich quick.
They don't make anything they just get some gullible landowners to sign up to building Turbines os EnregiKontor can take the subsidies and move on to their next  scam, Who win> EnergieKontor.

Who loses? British Taxpayers.

Do you think the several people who work for EnergieKontor in Leeds live next to WindFarms? No, they get rich  exploiting landowners and the flabby Government rules that pay these folk for ruining our countryside.

RWE NOT building Windfarm - Against Asserby Windfarm

Hoorah! Perhaps this is the beginning of the End? Maybe when the Government understands the public anger against a policy of taxing the poor to pay the Rich (Energy Companies) is morally and ethically wrong, they'll adjust the phenomenal payments they give for Green Energy making it nonviable merely as a profit making exercise?

Energy Price Hike - what should Dave do?

Now we are being hit, just when the winter begins. Last winter was bad enough I guess our bills went up by around 15% because of the cold.

On my bill there is approximately 15% that is Tax. 5% is VAT the rest is the Social Payment! That is what they pay to the Windfarm Gold Miners.

OBSCENE. Pensioners and people on beneits are Taxed to make greedy landowners ever RICHER. Robbing the poor to make the rich richer,

Have I mentioned the MILLIONS that the Windfarm owners GENERATE in income?

LOOK

4 x Turbines producing 10MWh

Even at 30% efficiency over 25 years they GENERATE
£61 million!!

Not to mention if they're in the wrong place and can't export their power the owners get even MORE in CONSTRAINT payments.

Appallingly obscene.

WE'RE Paying for this. Write to your MP to get it stopped.

Triton Knoll

Triton Knoll - the UK's largest offshore wind farm. 1200mw of power. It will generate at least £36billion for RWE over the next 25years - not allowing for increases in power prices. What does Lincolnshire get? just some cables underground and two great hulking substations the sizes of 20 football pitches. Is this FAIR?

No Gas! Lights go out.

Phew! We were lucky. At least now its a warmer - a bit.

WE were hours away from having NO GAS - what did I tell you?

Wind Farms are not the way forward - only because of the VAST subsidy from the Government (you and me) are any being built as what cost to us.

They rape our countryside and we don't get any compensation. The GAS will still run out!

GAS fired power stations are folly. Would you run your car on tickover to heat your house? NO.

We should use less energy, insulation and energy efficient appliances.

Harness more solar and wave/tide power.

We should build some nuclear power stations and develop clean coal-fired ones.

SAVE the PLANET

Energy - worse than higher prices - what to do when the lights go out?

We are blindly sleep walking into a crisis.

I could write a book on this but the future of energy in this country is bleak.

I am old enough to remember the rota cuts in tte 70's under Heath. Its not nice. It could happen here in 3 - 6 years.

We are using more and more energy even though it is getting more expensive yet supply must match demand. Its a law of physics like night follows day - ask Prof Brian Cox - he knows everything.

Anyway why be worried? Because we're shutting power stations and not building new ones. Forget the turbines - ONE gigawat power station would be equivalent to 10000 turbines so where and how are they going to build them? By april 10% of our supply will be turned off - what then? That's about 5gw, or 50,000 turbines - LOL!! remember does the wind blow 24x7?

We've had the dash-for-gas about 15yrs ago many gas fired power stations were built cheap, clean and efficient but drained our gas reserves and they only last about 10-15years. Not a good idea so now we need several nuclear stations to replace the gap but where and how will they be built. They take about 5-10yrs to get going - we can't wait that long hence the GAP. That's when the lights go out.

Believe me you read it here.

The good thing about this economic crisis is it reduces demand for power giving us a little breathing space. But when things pick up? What about fuel where is that to come from? GAS - probably from Russia or the middle east but then we're dependant on imports and what if there's trouble? Look at events in Africa with Al Qaeda taking over. Be worried.

We could use less - fat chance! Technology advances to make more efficient devices, but what about all those electric cars? where do they get their power? WE could spend the money on turbines on insulating our homes better or putting solar panels on every house! Why not?

Funny  thing is we're sitting on 200 years worth of Coal - but they won't use that its "dirty". Technology exists to burn it cleanly but its more expensive so BILLS UP! one way or another.

SORRY.

1953 Floods on Lincolnshire Coast

So today is the 60th anniversary of the disastrous floods on the Lincolnshire and the whole East Coast of England - January 31st 1953.

Let us remember the ones who died - 42 in Lincolnshire, I think over 1300 in Holland and Belgium, over 300 in England in total. Regardless of Global Warming lets remember the awful power of nature.

Unfortunately this area of Lincolnshire is now one of the most deprived in Europe. It has a demographic population of over 55s much greater than average and also because of low incomes there are a greater number in fuel poverty.

It seems the Government and council are unwilling to help because of the "Flood Risk". I can see that they don't want to put more people at risk but there are alternative arguments.

What should we do - just evacuate all the people and turn it into a no-mans land?

It seems there are Wind Farm builders Queuing up to build their Wind Turbines - I know they can be built in the sea, there are hundreds off shore at the moment, but do they really want to put them on land that will flood? Or should we let them - the price being to beef up the sea defences for the Locals?

Its a choice to be made.

Alternatively with land so cheap etc. why can't other industries be attracted? After all we've seen in the last couple of years there are parts of the inland country that are prone to floods where it was previously unheard of. Weigh that one up - Environment Agency.

Water power - why not?

So we've had the wettest 2012 since records began, so isn't it time we found a use for this water?

2 things - tidal power and Hydro-electricity.

So why don't we harness the tidal power? The tide goes in and out twice a day GUARANTEED.

Then all this water that fell on us, build some dams up in the hills and make it generate electricity as it flows out? You never know it might protect the valleys below.

Wind Farms - we pay them £1bn to exist

Think - why do we pay £1billion pounds to companies to build Wind Farms?

Energy prices are set to rise at over twice inflation so people will be forced to cut back to save money.

Wind Power is not the answer. After all where do we get our electricity when there's no Wind!

There are 25million homes in britain. If they gave a subsidy to folks to install Solar panels on their roofs, let s say each generates 2kw, that's 50million kw of power or 50GW.

Equivalent to 50 1gw power stations  In the dash for Gas they cost about £10m each and will last 15-25years at most (if the Gas lasts).

I realise Solar doesn't generate at night but when did the Sun Not rise?

Where are the Tidal power stations? Tidal is there all day every day - in/out twice a day.
We're surrounded by sea. Where is the Severn, the Humber and Morecambe bay barriers - free power. No greenhouse emissions.
I don't think they want solar panels on our roofs because its FREE power and the electric companies wouldn't need their subsidies
